Special Education Teacher of the Year
The recipient of this award is a licensed special education teacher who (1) has demonstrated his/her knowledge, skill and sensitivity in teaching students with exceptional needs, (2) often goes above and beyond what is normally expected in his/her profession, (3) serves as a role model and inspiration to his/her colleagues, (4) has been an active member of CEC for at least three continuous years. Please provide specific examples and details on nomination form.

Outstanding Professor of the Year
The recipient of this award is a professor who (1) has demonstrated his/her knowledge, skill and sensitivity in teaching university students about persons with disabilities, (2) often goes above and beyond what is normally expected in his/her profession, (3) serves as a role model and inspiration to his/her students and colleagues. Please provide specific examples and details on nomination form.

Outstanding Administrator of the Year
The recipient of this award is an administrator who (1) has demonstrated his/her knowledge, skill and sensitivity in advancing the opportunities, life potential, and achievement of children and/or adults with disabilities, (2) often goes above and beyond what is normally expected in his/her profession, (3) serves as a role model and inspiration to his/her students, teachers, and community. Please provide specific examples and details on nomination form.

Outstanding Advocate of the Year
The recipient of this award may be a business, organization, agency or individual who (1) has educated the general public on the characteristics, unique needs, strengths and potential of children or adults with exceptional needs, or (2) provides exceptional support services to children or adults with exceptional needs, or (3) has made a contribution to the mission of the Indiana Council of Exceptional Children. Please provide specific examples and details on nomination form.

Outstanding Student Chapter Teacher of the Year
The recipient of this award is a special education student teacher who is an active member of his/her CEC student chapter; student taught in the 2009-10 school year; and who (1) has demonstrated his/her knowledge, skill and sensitivity in teaching students with exceptional needs, (2) often goes above and beyond what is normally expected as a student teacher, (3) serves as a role model and inspiration to his/her students, family members, and colleagues, (4) is an active CEC member. Please provide specific examples and details on nomination form.
