Indiana CEC Minutes 9/18/04 Meeting

 

*      Dr. Littlejohn, Bloomberg Center at ISU, is retiring. INCEC will be collaborating with ICASE and others to give him the well-deserved recognition, probably in February 2005.

*      SCEC – officers will try to meet with at least one college to encourage and answer questions for faculty in order to gain student numbers

*      Membership – Candy Joles will look at the email sent by CEC and try to contact expired members monthly and have a table at the October conference for those interested in signing up to become a member or renew membership

            As of today 23 preregistrations have been sent in

            Final count for food date is October 1

                   Patti Buchanan - need checks to pay

*      Heavenly Ham $500

*      Table rental to Perfect Parties $500

*      Corporate printing for fliers $333

*      Kathie Dowell for paper, postage, ink cartridge $765.68

                     Tim needed help to fill in the gaps for proctors, etc. - John Somers and Candy Joles will

                   find University of Indianapolis students to help and officers will fill in as needed

                      IU students will be having a bake sale and drinks as a fundraiser instead of the

                   conference providing afternoon refreshments

                      Programs will be sent to the printer on Tuesday (hopefully DOE Division of Exceptional            Learners will donate the printing)

                    Candy Joles will contact Nancy Barnett to see if ICAN will have a booth and sell items at                the conference

                    Center pieces are being made to use as door prizes

                      Everyone praised Tim Frey for a great job he and the committee is doing for the Fall              Drive-In Conference

                    Call for proposals for the Spring Drive-In Conference will be placed in the   program

*      Spring Drive-In Conference – February 19, 2005 at Kathie Dowell’s school

*      Fall Drive-In Conference – contact Joe Karanja at South Bend to see about hosting

*      Spring Drive-In Conference – University of Indianapolis
