The Council for Exceptional Children is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities. CEC accomplishes its worldwide mission on behalf of educators and others working with individuals with exceptionalities by advocating for appropriate government policies; setting professional standards; providing continuing professional development; advocating for newly and historically under served individuals with exceptionalities; and helping professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.
